Pearls of Wisdom

God’s Word is full of Him, Who is Wisdom. Jesus is spoken of as the Wisdom of God. In the Bible the book of Proverbs is a definite book of wisdom, which is to be studied. This page is dedicated to bringing the wisdom of God’s Word to you so that you may find daily wisdom for your own life.

The Pathway of the Righteous

In the pathway of the righteous is life and there is no death (Proverbs 12:28). Are you righteous? If you are born again, you are righteous. In other words, when you accept what Jesus has done for you on the cross, you are born again and you become right with God. God Himself gives you the right to think like Him, talk like Him and act like Him. It is your choice to think, talk and act like God.

Unfortunately, even though people are born again, they may not know or accept their right-standing with God. In other words, because they don’t feel worthy, they cannot accept God’s label of being His “righteous” ones. Let me help you start on the road of accepting righteousness. In the New Living Translation, I have found a verse that gives such joy to me. Listen to it. “Long ago, even before He made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes” (Ephesians 1:3). You are righteous! You are God’s child!

When you become God’s child by being born again (new birth), you are righteous; you are right with God. He sees you with eyes of perfection. He chooses to see you without fault. How does He do that? He sees you through Christ Jesus. His vision is focused on you through Jesus Christ.

I think Proverbs 12:28 is a wonderful promise to me and you as God’s righteous children. In our pathway is life, and there is no death. Are we going to die physically? Of course, we are. But while we are living here on this earth, the consequences of death are not to touch us as God’s righteous children. Death represents separation. We are not separated from God. As a result of our union with Him, we are connected to and one with the wholeness of God in every area of our lives—spirit, soul, body, socially, and financially. We as God’s children must grasp this truth with all of our hearts. This is not an option for us. We must learn how to access and stay in the life of God, life without measure.

There is another verse I want you to look at in Proverbs 4:18 in the Amplified Bible. “But the path of the [uncompromisingly] just and righteous is like the light of dawn that shines more and more (brighter and clearer) until [it reaches its full strength and glory in] the perfect day [to be prepared].” What is this verse saying to us? Our pathway as God’s righteous children is one that is to grow brighter and brighter until the day we go home to be with the Lord. Our pathway is to be bright and clear. Oh, yes, our enemy satan will throw every kind of obstacle in our pathway, but our Lord will clear them out of the way for us as we focus on who we are in Christ Jesus. Jesus is the One Who takes care of us. There is absolutely nothing (Did you hear me? Nothing!) that satan can throw in our pathway that Jesus has not already taken care of for us, ahead of time. Are you hearing what I am saying? There is NOTHING that can overcome us when we keep our eyes focused on Jesus.

Let’s look at one more set of verses before we leave you today. I love Psalm 92:12-15 in the Amplified Bible. Read it with me today and let the reality of what these verses contain become personally yours today.
The [uncompromisingly] righteous shall flourish like the palm tree [be long-lived, stately, upright, useful, and fruitful]; they shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon [majestic, stable, durable, and incorruptible].
Planted in the house of the Lord, they shall flourish in the courts of our God.
[Growing in grace] they shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be full of sap [of spiritual vitality] and [rich in the] verdure [of trust, love, and contentment].
[They are living memorials] to show that the Lord is upright and faithful to His promises; He is my Rock, and there is no unrighteousness in Him.

The word “verdure” means vigorous, flourishing, growing condition.

Meditate or ponder and think on these verses today. This is your heritage as a child of God. You are to live a long life; in your pathway is life and the light of God; you are useful and bear fruit in your life; your life has meaning; you are growing in the Lord; you are full of vitality and energy and strength; you have the gift of contentment; and the Lord is faithful to His promises for you all the days of your life.

What promises we see in God’s Word for us as His righteous children! Today let the reality of these truths wash over you and through you until they are bigger than anything that you are facing or will face in the future.
