Pearls of Wisdom

God’s Word is full of Him, Who is Wisdom. Jesus is spoken of as the Wisdom of God. In the Bible the book of Proverbs is a definite book of wisdom, which is to be studied. This page is dedicated to bringing the wisdom of God’s Word to you so that you may find daily wisdom for your own life.

Wisdom To Live

In Proverbs 2:6,7 we read that the Lord gives wisdom; out of His mouth comes knowledge and understanding. He lays up sound wisdom for the righteous. In other words, God stores up His wisdom for those who have accepted Him as their Lord; He gives us His wisdom.

The Kialeen definition of wisdom is this: The ability to take knowledge and properly apply it to everything I say and do, that I may walk out the plan of God for my life. When I am born again, that knowledge is the knowledge of God. That wisdom is the wisdom of God. So, it is the knowledge of God operating in me through His ability or anointing to bring understanding of His Kingdom and its principles. Wisdom is knowledge in operation.

In 1 Corinthians 1:24-30 Amplified Bible we read:
But to those who are called, whether Jew or Greek (Gentile), Christ [is] the Power of God and the Wisdom of God.
[This is] because the foolish thing [that has its source in] God is wiser than men, and the weak thing [that springs] from God is stronger than men.
For [simply] consider your own call, brethren; not many [of you were considered to be] wise according to human estimates and standards, not many influential and powerful, not many of high and noble birth.
[No] for God selected (deliberately chose) what in the world is foolish to put the wise to shame, and what the world calls weak to put the strong to shame.
And God also selected (deliberately chose) what in the world is lowborn and insignificant and branded and treated with contempt, even the things that are nothing, that He might depose and bring to nothing the things that are,
So that no moral man should [have pretense for glorying and] boast in the presence of God.
But it is from Him that you have your life in Christ Jesus Whom God made our Wisdom from God, [revealed to us a knowledge of the divine plan of salvation previously hidden, manifesting itself as] our Righteousness [thus] making us upright and putting us in right standing with God], and our Consecration [making us pure and holy], and our Redemption [providing our ransom from eternal penalty for sin].

I love this passage of scripture. We are told that Christ is our Power. He is our Wisdom. It is from Him, Wisdom, that we live our life successfully. He has provided the doorway into the fullness of God Almighty, Father God. Jesus is called the door in the book of John. It is He Who has redeemed us, paid the price to ransom us from the territory of the enemy, satan. It is Jesus Christ Who has made us pure and holy. It is nothing of our own doing.

Jesus is our Wisdom. When we look at Proverbs, we see the many things that Jesus, Wisdom does for us, as we embrace Wisdom.
We dwell in safety, without fear or dread of evil (Prov. 1:33).
It is health to our body, length of days and long life and peace (Prov. 3:8,16,18; 9:11).
The wise shall inherit glory (Proverbs 3:35).
Riches and honor are with wisdom (Prov. 3:16).
Wisdom leads us into right paths (Prov. 4:11).
Wisdom gives us the favor of the Lord (Prov. 8:35).
With Wisdom is sweet sleep and no fear (Prov. 3:34).
Wisdom keeps us, defends us, guards us, protects us (Prov. 4:6).
He who walks in wisdom shall be delivered (Prov. 28:26).

In James 1:5 we are told that if we lack wisdom, we are to ask God for it. He knows the broad picture and not just the small picture at which we are looking. And we are told in Colossians 1:9 that we pray that we might be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding.

There is the Wisdom of God that we all have as His children. We MUST depend on His Wisdom rather than the wisdom of the world with its standards that are contrary to everything God stands for. We are told in Proverbs to cry out for Wisdom, to seek Wisdom with our whole being. Why is that? Wisdom produces a consistently successful life that God wants all of His children to experience. Go after Wisdom.
