Pearls of Wisdom

God’s Word is full of Him, Who is Wisdom. Jesus is spoken of as the Wisdom of God. In the Bible the book of Proverbs is a definite book of wisdom, which is to be studied. This page is dedicated to bringing the wisdom of God’s Word to you so that you may find daily wisdom for your own life.

Cleanse Me, Lord

As I was reading in Hebrews last week, I saw some beautiful truths about the cleansing power of God’s Word and the blood of Jesus. You know, today, everybody is talking about cleansing for health reasons. We are told by most natural doctors that we need to fast periodically not just for spiritual reasons but also for physical reasons. Our bodies need cleansing of all the toxins that build up in them.

Today we are going to talk about spiritual cleansing, one of the most awesome works of God that I see in the Word of God. When we are purified and kept clean before the Lord, the things of the spirit realm are so much sharper, so much clearer. There is not a lot of junk interfering with our seeing and hearing in the spirit.

If you read 1 John 1:7, Hebrews 1:3, Hebrews 9:22 and Hebrews 10:1, you see that the blood of Jesus continually cleanses, purifies, purges our spirit man of things contrary to God’s Kingdom, cleanses our body of sickness and disease, cleanses our soul of thoughts and emotions contrary to God’s way of life. And the Word of God continually cleanses, purifies, purges us of all that is contrary to God’s thoughts, laws and ways of operating.

We are the temple of the Holy Spirit. If we allow Him, He will continually cleanse us of fleshly contamination, those things that lead us away from the spirit-led life. Doubt, unbelief, fear contaminate us and harden our hearts. The remedy for that contamination is the Word of God, the blood of Jesus, the name of Jesus, the power of the Holy Spirit. All points to God. He is the Word. He is Life. He is Love. He is the Light. He is the Anointing. He is the Holy Spirit. He is pure power. He is everything.

When I looked in the 1828 Webster’s Dictionary, I saw that the word "purge" is probably a derivative from the root of the word “pure.” It means to cleanse or purify by separating and carrying off whatever is impure, foreign, or superfluous. It means to sweep away impurities, carry off impurities. I add to that---make a clean sweep.

In Strong’s Concordance purge means to cleanse, clean, purify, prune.

In John 15:1-3 we see the word “purge or cleanse” used as the word “prune.” Every branch that bears fruit, He purges it, prunes it, cleanses it, purifies it, so that it may bear more and better fruit. Of course, if something is removed from your life that is blocking the fruit producing, then more and richer fruit is produced---the fruit of the spirit, with Love being the foundation fruit out of which all others grow. Galatians 5 lists the fruit of the spirit-----love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance.

So, when we are cleansed, agape love, which is perfect love, Who is God (God is Love.), is allowed to be the essence of our lives; He goes to work on our behalf and casts out fear.

When I give Agape Love permission to indwell and direct my life, He does just that.

I yield to Agape Love Himself and Agape Love Himself will take care of me.

I would like to end the Pearls today with 1 John 1:7b and 9 in the Amplified Bible.
…the blood of Jesus Christ, His Son, God’s Son, cleanses (removes) me from all sin and guilt, keeps me cleansed from sin in all its forms and manifestations. Jesus Christ is faithful and just, righteous, to forgive my sins and continuously cleanse me from all unrighteousness, everything not in conformity to His will in purpose, thought and action.

We see from these scriptures that Jesus Christ in our lives continuously cleanses us of sin in thought, word, action, motive. He does this as we yield to Him and allow Him to be in charge of our lives, directing us into the abundance of His promises.
